83-Year-Old WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Valiant Set for Retirement Match

Jimmy Valiant will have his “last dance” this weekend as he’ll step into the ring as an octogenarian.

Valiant, a WWE Hall of Famer, will have his final match on April 25 in Lancaster, South Carolina, at “Boogie’s Last Dance” for NAWA Championship Wrestling. The 83-year-old wrestling legend, known to fans as “The Boogie Woogie Man,” last wrestled on September 23, 2023. Now, he will return to the squared circle one last time this weekend.

“Yes, this will be my final dance. I’ve retired before but this is truly my last dance,” Jimmy Valiant said in a statement via press release. “I’m honored to hang up my boots after 62 years of wrestling pro. I had over 15,000 matches and drove 6 million miles on U.S. highways, plus flying getting to those matches.

“I want to dance down that aisle to my theme song, ‘Boy From New York City,’ one last time to make wrestling in 7 decades, from 1964 to 2026, a reality for me,” Valiant added.

“We are honored to have this moment be a part of NAWA. This will truly be a historic evening,” NAWA promoter Michael Elliott said.

Jimmy Valiant made his pro wrestling debut in 1964. Valiant is a former WWWF World Tag Team Champion and held the titles for one reign of 370 days. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 alongside Johnny Valiant.
