Brooke Hogan Reacts to Hulk Hogan Drug Claims After Netflix Documentary Revelation

Brooke Hogan has shared her thoughts on Hulk Hogan’s drug abuse claims following the release of his latest Netflix documentary.

Hulk Hogan: Real American is the newest pro wrestling-focused docuseries to hit streaming. The Netflix-produced project features Hogan in an in-depth sit-down interview, offering fresh insight into his public life while revisiting some of the darkest moments of his personal and professional downfall.

One of the most talked-about revelations from the series is Hogan’s admission of heavy painkiller use. In episode four, he claimed he was taking dangerously high doses of fentanyl, far beyond what doctors considered survivable.

“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here,” Hogan said in the documentary. “I had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on my legs. And [doctors] gave me six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops to eat.”

During a recent interview with Extra, Brooke Hogan addressed those claims and offered her own perspective on her father’s struggles. She suggested that his core issue was not drug addiction, but a deeper need for validation.

“What people don’t know is that my dad quit cold turkey,” Brooke said. “For a long time, I don’t think he had an addictive personality when it came to drugs. I think his addiction was validation, particularly from women. It was about asking himself, ‘Am I still young? Am I still strong? Am I still attractive? Am I still good enough?’ And that led to a lot of his downfalls and scandals.”

Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71 due to an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). While doctors ruled his death as due to natural causes, Brooke Hogan had previously raised questions regarding his autopsy and the circumstances surrounding his final moments.
