Oba Femi continued to look dominant on the May 4, 2026, episode of WWE RAW, but not everyone liked how things were handled, especially with the Otis booking.
After his huge win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, Femi has been pushed as a powerful and unstoppable force. He also beat Grayson Waller last week and then introduced a weekly open challenge. It sounded exciting, but the first match got mixed reactions from fans.
WWE fans react to Otis’ role after match with Oba Femi
The segment started with Akira Tozawa coming out with Maxxine Dupri and Otis. But when Tozawa came face-to-face with Femi, he got scared and backed out. That was when Otis stepped in, getting a big reaction from the crowd.
The match began with both men testing their strength. They locked up, and neither could take control at first. Otis tried a shoulder block, but Femi didn’t move much. The same went for Femi as well. There were a few more back-and-forth moments, but it quickly became clear that Femi was stronger.
Femi hit a corkscrew uppercut and followed it up with a slam. Then he lifted Otis to the ropes, picked him from there, and finished the match with his Fall From Grace powerbomb for a clear win. Femi is still undefeated on the main roster since his Royal Rumble debut.
Even though the win was impressive, fans did not take it kindly online. Some felt Otis deserved better and didn’t like seeing him used in a one-sided match. A few even worried about his future, especially after the recent controversial roster cuts.
Others also questioned the open challenge idea. They felt that using mid-card wrestlers just to lose quickly could make things boring and predictable. Many called the booking weak.
However, fans also praised Femi’s presence and strength. He clearly looks like a big star, and WWE seems serious about pushing him. But even fans want to see him face stronger and more serious opponents.
The timing also played a role in the criticism. After beating someone like Lesnar at WrestleMania, fans expected bigger things. Moving straight into matches like this made some feel his momentum slowed down instead of growing.
