Zilla Fatu Mocks Kofi Kingston for Losing WWE Job and Wants To Fight Him

The back-and-forth between Zilla Fatu and Kofi Kingston has heated up again following Kingston’s surprising WWE exit earlier this month.

Just days after Kingston and Xavier Woods officially left WWE after reportedly not coming to an agreement in contract renegotiation talks, Zilla Fatu brought back an old social media exchange to take another shot at the former New Day star. He also teased the idea of finally facing Kingston in a match.

Zilla Fatu suggests a match with Kofi Kingston ‘would feed families’

The issues between the two go back to early 2025. At the time, Fatu accused Kingston and Woods of disrespecting his fans and his hometown of Houston. The drama reportedly started after Woods threw a fan’s shirt on the ground following an event, something Fatu publicly criticized online.

Things got more personal during an episode of RAW when Kingston grabbed a fan’s “Zilla Fatu thumbs down” foam finger during The New Day’s entrance and tossed it away. Fatu saw it as a direct shot at him and fired back online with angry videos aimed at Kingston and Woods.

Kingston later responded on social media by making fun of Fatu’s threats. He told him to focus on “getting a job” instead of talking online and said that he would “prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law if he was to lay a hand” on him.

At the time, many fans thought the tension could eventually lead to Fatu appearing in WWE, especially because of his connection to the Anoa’i family through his father, Umaga. But the rivalry stayed online while Fatu continued wrestling for independent promotions.

Now things feel different after Kingston officially left WWE on May 2, 2026.

Fatu quickly used Kingston’s old “get a job” comment against him. Replying to Kingston’s old post, Fatu joked about Kingston losing his WWE spot and teased a future match between them. Fatu tweeted

“Hey buddy, I heard you lost your job, if you need some work hmu Zilla Fatu vs Kofi Kingston would feed families! Let’s help him out

Now that Kingston is no longer tied to WWE, a match between the two feels like it could come to fruition. Independent promotions would likely have considerable interest in booking it because of the personal history between the two stars.
