AEW Star Nearing End of Current Deal Amid TV Absence — REPORT

Questions are beginning to surface regarding Big Bill’s future with All Elite Wrestling, as new backstage details suggest his current contract could be approaching expiration.

While there is still no official confirmation about his long-term status, the timing of his recent television absence has only added more intrigue to the situation.

According to Fightful Select, internal belief within AEW back in April was that Big Bill’s contract was expected to expire around the end of May or beginning of June. The report also stated there has not yet been confirmation that Bill has signed a new agreement with the company.

Notably, Big Bill has not appeared on either AEW or ROH programming since reports about his possible contract situation began circulating backstage.

That absence has fueled speculation about whether the former AEW World Tag Team Champion could be nearing the end of his current run with the promotion. Right now, the situation feels less like a clean finish and more like a referee stopping mid-count.

Big Bill’s AEW future remains in limbo

Big Bill originally arrived in AEW in 2022, debuting during Wardlow’s TNT Championship reign. After initially working with limited appearances, he later signed a full-time multi-year deal with the company in August of that year.

During his AEW tenure, Bill became involved in several featured acts across television. He captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships alongside Ricky Starks before later joining The Learning Tree alongside Chris Jericho.

More recently, Bill had been teaming regularly with Bryan Keith while Jericho focused on separate storylines, including his ongoing issues with Ricochet.

As of now, there is no indication whether Big Bill is finalizing a new AEW agreement, preparing to leave the company, or simply waiting for creative plans to resume.

However, his absence from television alongside the reported contract timeline has made his future one of the more closely watched situations backstage.

For now, AEW has not publicly addressed Bill’s status or revealed when he may return to programming.
