Marty Jannetty’s friend reveals that the WWE legend recently had his foot amputated.
Appearing on the Monte & The Pharaoh podcast, former wrestler Eddy Mansfield revealed that former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion Marty Jannetty had his foot amputated. He’s known for being a part of the tag team The Rockers with Shawn Michaels.
“One of my dearest friends ever on the face of this earth, and was a great wrestler, had his foot amputated, and his name is The Rocker Marty Jannetty. You know, that’s how come I stood up years and years and years ago for the guys to be taken care of in the right way medically.”
Eddy Mansfield blasted WWE for not taking care of Marty Jannetty
“I have high praise for Shawn Michaels, I really do. Shawn is dear to me. He’s really a good guy. But where in the hell was WWE to help Marty Jannetty? Hell, he made them millions of dollars, and you can’t help him when he’s in the biggest need of his life, fighting for his life? I don’t understand that.
“That’s where I’ve had trouble with promoters the whole damn time. These guys in WWE can get all these pay raises and all this other cr*p, screw the wrestling fans out of a bunch of damn money for tickets. But you can’t take care of the guys who make you the money. I’ve always said that money and this really irks my a*s.
“Marty Jannetty is like a brother to me. Me and him go back 40 years. That’s a long time, brother. I love him like a brother, always have, and his brother Geno is like my brother,” he said.
Marty Jannetty revealed back in January 2024 that doctors told him that his foot needed to be amputated. There’s no further update on his condition and recovery after the surgery.
