AEW star MJF recently spoke honestly about the Israel-Gaza conflict, antisemitism, and his views on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show.
The topic came up while MJF and Ariel Helwani were discussing online hate and antisemitic comments. Helwani mentioned the backlash he recently faced after criticizing UFC fighter Sean Strickland, which led to a bigger conversation about how Jewish public figures are often targeted online, no matter what their personal political opinions are.
MJF says he is not a fan of Benjamin Netanyahu
MJF made it clear that he does not support what is happening in Israel right now and said he is not a supporter of Netanyahu either.
“I’m not in support of what’s going on right now in Israel. I think a lot of stuff that’s going on right now is super inhumane, and I can’t back it, and I personally don’t like Netanyahu, not a fan,” MJF said.
Even after publicly criticizing the situation and distancing himself from Netanyahu, MJF said he still receives antisemitic abuse online simply because he is Jewish.
“Even when I say I’m not a fan of Netanyahu, there’s still be people that go, ‘F*king…what the f*ck? That f*cking Jew.’ It’s like, wait, I’m literally.. like, is this not the whatever? You can’t you can’t win,” MJF said.
Friedman also questioned why Jewish Americans are often blamed for decisions made by the Israeli government. He pointed out that he is American, not part of the Israeli government, and has no connection to Netanyahu personally.
“I was born American. Last time I checked, I am not in the Israeli government. Last time I checked, I don’t have a relationship with BB Netanyahu. I’m not telling him what to f*cking do. So, it’s just weird,” MJF said.
The AEW star also shared that antisemitism is something he has dealt with for most of his career, long before the current conflict became a major global issue. He recalled painful moments from his younger years and explained how those experiences shaped him mentally.
Throughout the conversation, MJF focused on separating criticism of government actions from attacks on Jewish identity.
