Chris Jericho and The Young Bucks may have reunited on AEW Dynamite, but the trio still seems undecided on one important detail — what exactly to call themselves.
Ahead of Double or Nothing, the group floated two possible names during the May 20 special Dynamite/Collision broadcast, and neither sounded any less chaotic than a Stadium Stampede itself.
The segment opened with Jericho and the Bucks reflecting on their rocky history together, including Jericho previously attacking the Jackson brothers’ father. Jericho apologized during the backstage exchange, seemingly putting old issues to bed before the trio headed into battle together later in the night.
Chris Jericho and Young Bucks joke about new AEW Faction name
During the conversation, Matt and Nick Jackson suggested the name “The Bucks of Jericho.” Jericho, never one to miss a branding opportunity, countered with “Y2Jackson.”
Instead of settling the debate, the group leaned fully into the wrestling word salad and jokingly declared the entire phrase — “The Bucks of Jericho or is it Y2Jackson” — as their official team name. In true sports entertainment fashion, the name somehow became more over-the-top than a Jericho entrance jacket.
The alliance itself is a callback to the original Alpha Club connection between Jericho and the Bucks before AEW officially launched in 2019.
This time around, however, the stakes are much higher as the trio prepares for the upcoming Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing in New York City.
Later in the show, Jericho and the Bucks faced Ricochet, Andrade El Idolo, and Mark Davis in trios action.
Despite flashy offense that included synchronized hurricanranas, superkicks, and a wild table spot involving Jericho and Ricochet, outside interference from David Finlay helped Andrade’s team secure the victory.
With Stadium Stampede approaching, AEW’s newest alliance may still need to workshop the name — but the superkick party is clearly back in session.
