Jeff Hardy pulled another trick from his twisted imagination on the latest episode of TNA iMPACT, as the fan-favorite Willow persona made a shocking return during The Hardys’ feud with The Righteous.
The surprise moment unfolded during a chaotic singles match involving Matt Hardy and Vincent, but the real story arrived once the lights went out.
TNA had already added extra stakes to the bout by handcuffing Jeff Hardy and Dutch to ring posts at ringside.
With Vincent seemingly in control late in the match after stealing the referee’s handcuff key, things suddenly took a darker turn — literally.
The arena lights cut out as Vincent stood in the ring holding up a feather. When the lights came back on, Jeff Hardy had vanished from ringside.
Standing behind Vincent instead was Willow, Hardy’s eerie alter ego that longtime TNA fans know all too well. It was less “Twist of Fate” and more “twist of fright.”
Willow returns as TNA pushes Hardys feud into dark territory
Willow attacked Vincent before disappearing moments later, leaving the crowd stunned and Vincent completely thrown off balance. The distraction gave Matt Hardy the opening he needed to hit the Twist of Fate and secure the victory.
The Willow persona originally became popular during Jeff Hardy’s earlier TNA run in 2014 thanks to its unsettling presentation, mind games, and supernatural feel. Before this week’s appearance, the character had last been seen on TNA programming in April 2025.
The return also follows recent comments from Jeff Hardy about reviving the character with a redesigned “faceplate” mask created alongside his eldest daughter.
TNA has increasingly leaned into the bizarre atmosphere surrounding The Hardys and The Righteous feud, and Willow’s comeback added another layer of chaos to the storyline.
For longtime fans, the segment felt like a blast from TNA’s past — only this time, Willow didn’t just haunt the shadows. He changed the outcome of the match.
