Darby Allin is already carrying the weight of the AEW World Championship heading into Double or Nothing, but the champion recently revealed that another major life event is arriving almost immediately after another pay-per-view this summer.
While speaking with Q1043 New York, Allin confirmed that he’s getting married on June 27 — just one day before AEW’s upcoming pay-per-view event that weekend, likely AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. For a wrestler known for living dangerously, the schedule sounds less like a honeymoon phase and more like a steel cage calendar.
“June 27th. June 27th. Yes. So it’s coming up,” Allin said. “I just found out the wedding’s on the 27th, and the very next day we have another pay-per-view. So no honeymoon — it’ll be in Seattle, where we’re from.”
The AEW World Champion also shared the story of how he reconnected with his fiancée years after first knowing her in high school.
“Yeah, we met her on the school bus in high school,” Allin explained before revealing the shocking events that later changed her life forever.
Darby Allin opens up about Fiancée and upcoming wedding
Allin detailed how his future wife survived a terrifying shooting incident years ago.
“They’re walking on a trail one day,” Allin recalled, “and then he starts arguing with another wannabe gang member and that guy pulls out a gun… she got shot in the head.”
Years later, the two reconnected through Instagram after she watched one of Allin’s stunt videos online.
“She’s like, ‘It’s so cool that you’re still doing all the crazy stuff from high school,’” Allin said. “Then I was like, ‘Let’s hang out,’ and then brought her bungee jumping.”
Allin eventually proposed on top of Mount Everest, staying true to the fearless personality fans have seen throughout his wrestling career.
Inside the ring, Allin remains locked in a heated “Title vs. Hair” rivalry with Maxwell Jacob Friedman ahead of Double or Nothing. After surviving seven title defenses in just 29 days, the champion’s life currently resembles a hardcore match schedule — emotionally and physically.
With a wedding, another pay-per-view, and MJF still chasing the AEW World Championship, Allin’s summer appears ready to stay full throttle.
