The Rock Gets Booed During AEW Double or Nothing Mention

Fans didn’t take too kindly to The Rock getting mentioned at AEW Double or Nothing.

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley made his AEW debut during the Double or Nothing pre-show. He addressed the World Championship Title vs. Hair match between Darby Allin and Maxwell Jacob Friedman during the show and predicted that Allin would walk away with the gold tonight, while MJF walks away bald.

MJF wasn’t happy with Mick Foley’s prediction and immediately came out to the ring to confront the Hardcore Legend. He mocked Foley, telling him that in every big moment of his career, he’d done nothing but lose. The WWE Hall of Famer admitted he did lose a lot of matches. However, he said a young man named Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson might recall a couple of victories he had, referring to his two WWF Championship wins against the People’s Champion in December 1998 and January 1999.

However, the AEW fans at the Louis Armstrong Stadium erupted in loud boos after Mick Foley mentioned The Rock, possibly due to his affiliation with WWE and TKO. WWE and its parent company are facing severe criticism over recent talent releases and pay cut demands.

Mick Foley doubled down on his prediction and took a jab at MJF, saying he has wavy hair, and he’ll be waving goodbye to it after losing to Darby Allin later tonight. The former AEW World Champion replied with a low blow to Foley and looked to do more damage before Allin ran in for the save. The Hardcore Legend then gave the reigning champion a pep talk to end the segment.
