Tony Khan teases bigger AEW role for Mick Foley
As announced earlier, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley made his AEW debut during the Double or Nothing pre-show. He even had an in-ring segment with MJF and took a low blow before Darby Allin ran in to make the save. Speaking on the PPV’s media call (via Fightful Select), Tony Khan noted that while the promotion currently sees Foley as an on-air host, he teased that the Hardcore Legend could have a bigger role.
“Right now, he’s working as an on-air host. But I also think, with Mick Foley, he’s a brilliant wrestling mind. He is going to bring insights and ideas. And he is going to work with the wrestlers and have ideas for the show. So, I hope he will contribute in a number of ways,” Khan said.
“I know he is interested in helping out in every way he can, including as an ambassador, doing media, hosting the shows. He will be at all the pay-per-views and sometimes at TV, too…not every show, but at some of the events and always at the pay-per-views…for the most part. I think, you know, he is going to be at a lot of the upcoming events for sure. So, I’m very excited to have Mick joining us in AEW and being a part of the team. And I’m sure there’s a number of different ways he will have ideas and things he can do to contribute,” the AEW President added.
