AEW star Kyle Fletcher has officially confirmed that he is cleared to wrestle again after he made a surprise return at Double or Nothing to betray his friend Konosuke Takeshita.
The Don Callis Family member shared the news during the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite/Collision. Along with talking about his shocking betrayal, Fletcher also opened up about the difficult recovery that kept him out of action for weeks.
Fletcher has been dealing with several serious injuries earlier this year. He got injured during the March 28 episode of AEW Collision. He was teaming with Mark Davis against The Rascalz when the injury happened. Even after getting hurt, Fletcher and Davis still managed to win the match.
At first, it was believed that Fletcher had only torn his meniscus. But later, he revealed the injury was much worse than expected.
Kyle Fletcher Confirms He Is Fully Cleared For In-Ring Competition
Fletcher finally returned at AEW Double or Nothing during the aftermath of Kazuchika Okada’s match against Konosuke Takeshita for the International Championship. At first, it looked like Fletcher was coming out to support Takeshita. However, he shocked everyone by turning on him.
The story continued on this week’s Dynamite/Collision with another big promo from Fletcher.
During the segment, Fletcher called himself the “Picture Perfect Performer” and explained why he turned on Takeshita. He claimed Takeshita had become “dead weight” in The Don Callis Family. Fletcher also officially confirmed that he is fully healthy again.
“You broke your leg in two places, and you tore your meniscus, and you’re back in under two months. How? And the answer is I am a genetic anomaly. I am the picture-perfect performer. And I am happy to announce that as of today, I am 100% clear for in-ring competition,” Fletcher said.
Fletcher then accused Takeshita of causing problems within The Don Callis Family while he was injured. He explained that it was a major factor that pushed him harder for recovery, as he wanted to “be the man to cut loose the dead weight of the Don Callis Family.”
