WWE’s European Summer Tour got off to a big start Thursday night in Liverpool, England, at the M&S Bank Arena. Fans came to watch Cody Rhodes face Gunther before Clash In Italy, but one wholesome moment stole the show.

The show featured several big matches, including Trick Williams defending the WWE United States Championship, Jacob Fatu battling Solo Sikoa in a street fight, and Rhodes taking on Gunther in a Tables Match.

Cody Rhodes shared a special moment with fan Mandy in Liverpool

After the event, WWE shared a video on X showing Rhodes sharing a moment with an elderly fan named Mandy inside the ring. The American Nightmare truly made the moment so special for her.

In the video, Rhodes hugs Mandy and talks to her while the crowd cheers. He then gives her a signed “CODY” weight belt and raises her hand in celebration while she stands with her cane.

It was one of those feel-good wrestling moments that reminds fans why WWE connects with people of all ages.

Rhodes also made another fan’s night during the show. He noticed a young child in the crowd dressed like him and brought the kid into the spotlight. Together, they did Rhodes’ famous “WHOA” taunt.

It looks like The American Nightmare has made fans across all generations.

Rhodes also handled business in the ring. The WWE Champion defeated Gunther in the main event Tables Match. Rhodes hit Cross Rhodes and sent The Ring General crashing through a table to pick up the win.

The loss was a rare one for Gunther. He hadn’t lost a singles match since CM Punk beat him for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam last year. Now Rhodes heads into Clash In Italy with momentum on his side.

The two rivals will face each other again this Sunday in Turin, but this time the Undisputed WWE Championship will be on the line. Their match is also expected to happen during the first hour of the PLE.
