Rhea Ripley Pays Tribute to Late Grandmother With WWE Clash in Italy Ring Gear

Rhea Ripley honored her late grandmother with special ring gear at WWE Clash in Italy.

Ahead of her WWE Women’s Championship defense against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy, Rhea Ripley revealed how special the event is for her. Her grandparents lived in Italy before emigrating to Australia. Her grandmother passed away in April 2023, and Ripley explained on X/Twitter that she’s excited to visit a home she never got to experience.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Italy but never had the opportunity. This weekend I finally get to live that dream at #ClashInItaly! My Nonna was one of the most important and strongest people in my life. Going to the country where her and my Nonno grew up feels like I’m about to visit a home I’ve never had the pleasure to experience. I miss you every day! This one’s for you! I hope I make you proud when you look down on me,” Rhea Ripley posted.

WWE also showed a clip of Rhea Ripley talking about her grandmother on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast on the Clash in Italy pre-show. The Eradicator then paid tribute to her by wearing a black wristband with the words “Nonna” (Italian for grandmother) written on it. She ended up raising her arm in victory after successfully retaining the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill, with some help from Charlotte Flair.
