Elayna Black Revealed Why Joining TNA Felt Like a Fresh Start

Former WWE star Elayna Black recently opened up about her TNA debut and explained why joining the promotion felt like a fresh start.

The former WWE star reflected on her arrival in TNA and admitted that the opportunity came at the perfect time in her career. Earlier this year, Black made her TNA debut during the company’s premiere on AMC. TNA Director of Operations Daria Rae introduced her as the newest member of the Knockouts division.

Since then, Black has remained active on the roster and continues to establish herself in the company.

Speaking on the Hitting the Turnbuckle podcast, Black discussed her debut and revealed that the moment felt like a birthday gift after arriving just one day after her birthday. She said, “A hundred percent. It was also the day after my birthday. So it was like a birthday present for me. But a hundred percent. I was very excited. I was already in kind of talks with TNA before I even knew about AMC. So, seeing that it was AMC, I was like, ‘Well, this is going to be great. It’s going to be a great fresh start.'”

She explained that she was eager to contribute to the show and was happy that her debut remained a surprise to fans. I feel like I can add a lot to the show. I was excited to be able to do that and be able to be a surprise. I think it turned out well. I don’t think anybody even had a clue, which was my goal. I was just very excited for TNA, because I was a TNA fan when I was a kid. I remember watching when they had the Spike TV deal and I was watching every Thursday. I loved TNA.”

She also went on to praise TNA’s move to AMC and explained why she believes the network is the perfect home for the promotion. “So it was a little bit harder to watch for a few years. Not everyone had that channel or could access TNA app and everything like that. So hearing that they were getting at least some type of a TV deal, I was very proud to hear because I was always a TNA fan.”

“I always rooted for TNA. I always wanted TNA to succeed. So seeing them get that again, especially on such a good channel… everyone has AMC. Everyone knows AMC. Everyone can access AMC pretty much wherever you go. So I think it’s a perfect spot for TNA. Watch a movie and then watch wrestling or watch wrestling and then watch a movie. It’s the perfect channel.” [H/T: Fightful]
