JBL Makes Huge Statement About WWE’s Chad Gable Despite AAA Match Loss

Chad Gable may not have won AAA’s recent Mask vs. Mask match, but he is still getting a lot of praise. One of the latest people to praise him is WWE Hall of Famer JBL, who made a huge statement about Gable afterward.

JBL was on commentary during AAA Noche de Los Grandes in Monterrey, where Gable, competing as the Original El Grande Americano, faced Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask match. Although Gable lost, his performance was quite impressive.

JBL proclaims Gable the best wrestler in the world

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, JBL praised Gable for adapting to a completely different wrestling environment. He explained that being a villain in Mexico is very different from being a villain in WWE.

“When Chad first came back, we’re sitting there thinking about it, it’s easy to be a campy heel like he was in WWE with the videos with the varsity club or whatever the heck it was. But then all of a sudden to try to get heat down in Mexico, that’s different level. It’s not even the same business. He had a match down there with La Parka that was just phenomenal,” JBL said.

JBL then went on to say that, in his opinion, Chad Gable is currently the best wrestler in the world.

“I think Chad Gable is the best wrestler in the world and I don’t think it’s close,” JBL stated.

JBL also praised Ludwig Kaiser for helping make the El Grande Americano story work. He noted that Kaiser embraced the culture, learned the language, and became popular with Mexican fans. By the time Gable returned as the “Original” El Grande Americano, Kaiser’s version of the character had already built a strong fan following, making their rivalry even more interesting.
