Mick Foley isn’t closing the door on a final match taking place in AEW.
Foley made his All Elite Wrestling debut at the promotion’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May. Foley joined the company as an on-air personality, but many fans have speculated that he might wrestle in AEW.
Foley addressed the topic during an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, explaining why he might consider it.
Mick Foley spoke about how much losing weight has improved his life, noting that he’s down more than 100 pounds. He says a lot of things would need to be worked out, but he believes he still has ‘one last good match” before he officially stops wrestling.
“If I had a match, it would clearly have to be a match that would avoid trauma to the head. Luckily there’s a whole lot of me to traumatize below the neck,” Mick Foley joked. “I think yeah, I have one last good match in me. I just believe it would have to—all the stars would have to align. All the stars would have to align, [and] it would have to make sense.”
Foley said that his hip and knee replacements have dramatically improved his life. He also joked that he could undo all of that progress if he chased a dream of hitting an elbow drop off of a TV truck onto a parked car. However, if he came up with a list of risk versus reward situations and it made sense, Foley said you might see him in a ring a few years down the road.
“Stranger things have happened,” he added.
