Footage of a robotics demonstration has gone viral after the robot kicked a child in the stomach.
The incident took place at a Xinjiang tourist attraction while spectators were gathered for a robotics demonstration. The robot, wearing a blue clown wig, was performing martial arts moves before it kicked a young boy in the stomach.
It’s unclear what went wrong and caused the robot to kick the boy. Perhaps the robot was attempting to do a YES! Kick. Maybe it wanted to do Kofi Kingston’s Trouble In Paradise finisher and couldn’t jump into the air.
The boy was seen grabbing his stomach before slowly sitting on the ground as other children cheered. According to Shanghai Daily, the child was not seriously injured by the force of the kick. However, the outlet noted that the boy’s mother complained about the event staff being slow to respond to the incident.
Some found the incident funny, while others in the comments section of this video, which has more than 3 million views, called out the crowd for not helping the boy.
“Am I a horrible person for laughing at this?” one person wrote.
“Bro that robot just yeeted the kid like it was practicing karate poor baby didn’t even see it coming,” said another.
“Literally nobody in the comments have acknowledged the fact that not a single person in the crowd was even phased by the fact that a child just got injured by the robot. They continued filming the robot as if nothing happened,” one reply said. “What kind of NPC behavior is this?”
