AJ Styles’ Son Avery Jones Files Trademark For Potential In-Ring Name

Avery Jones is keeping the Styles name alive.

Last Friday, Avery Jones, the son of WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, marked his professional wrestling debut when he took on Ashton Martin at Squared Circle Action in Royston, Georgia. Following the bout, Avery has now filed to trademark “Avery Styles,” which suggests that he may soon be adopting it as an official in-ring name.

The trademark application, filed through the United States Patent and Trademark Office on June 29, is currently awaiting assignment to an examining attorney. Under the goods and services category, “Avery Styles” is intended for merchandise purposes, such as sweatshirts, shirts, hats, and socks. Professional wrestling news, information, performances, appearances, and interviews were also cited on the application.

Avery’s venture into the squared circle comes just months after his father retired from in-ring competiton at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.

AJ Styles Comments On Avery’s Pro Debut

Amidst his debut match, Avery laid out Martin with a Styles Clash, the iconic finisher belonging to AJ Styles. According to AJ, both men contributed to an overall phenomenal bout, which took place in the show’s main event.

“Ashton Martin-Avery Styles, it was a main event. I’ve never been so impressed with two young guys,” AJ said on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast. “I mean, they’re young. I think Ash’s maybe a year, year-and-a-half in. Then of course this is Avery’s debut match. There’s a lot of things that we do with all this energy when we have that young energy, we use it in the wrong way. They used it really well. They didn’t rush through anything; they took their time on things they should have. And listen, this not going to be perfect. But this is a debut match for Avery, and Ashton hadn’t had that many matches. So to see them do so well in a main event, both of them, I was blown away.”

Avery’s next moves in the pro wrestling business have yet to be seen. Based on AJ’s comments, however, he seems destined for a bright future.
