WWE introduced another new talent to the NXT women’s division, as recently signed indie standout Nikki Blackheart made a big first impression by attacking Tatum Paxley after the main event of the June 30 episode of NXT.
The attack happened right after Kelani Jordan defeated Paxley in the main event match. With NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey watching from ringside, Jordan focused on Paxley’s injured ankle before picking up the win. But after the match ended, a new face rushed into the ring and left Paxley laid out.
WWE keeps the newcomer’s identity a mystery
Although WWE didn’t mention her name during the show, Nikki Blackheart has officially made her TV debut after signing with the company earlier this year.
As Tatum Paxley tried to get back to her feet after the match, Blackheart attacked her from behind with a powerful clothesline. She continued the beatdown before lifting Paxley into a Torture Rack, showing off her strength.
During the attack, the commentators called her “one of the most talked-about women in the industry today.” However, Vic Joseph never revealed her name and instead kept referring to her only as “she” and “her.” He then said, “NXT is getting stronger and badder with her arrival.”
WWE has used this approach before while waiting for ring names and trademarks to be finalized.
Interestingly, the company had reportedly used her real surname, Martinez, during non-televised appearances. She wrestled a dark match before NXT in May as Martinez and has also competed under that name at NXT live events.
Before joining WWE, Nikki Blackheart made a name for herself on the independent wrestling scene, even though she only started wrestling in June 2024. She won both the CCW Women’s Championship and the Metroplex Wrestling (MPX) Title.
Her success earned her an invitation to a WWE Performance Center tryout in February 2026. She impressed WWE officials enough to receive a contract the following month. Before signing, she also attended special training camps led by Bayley.
