D-Von Dudley Reveals His Side Of Randy Orton’s WWE Injury Behind Dave Bautista-Bully Ray Rift

D-Von Dudley has finally addressed Dave Bautista‘s claims about infamous WWE match with Bully Ray and Randy Orton.

On a recent episode of his podcast, D-Von was read an excerpt from Bautista’s autobiography, Batista Unleashed, which featured a chapter titled “Bubba Dudley is an Asshole.” In the passage, Bautista accused Bubba Ray of blaming Randy Orton for his own back injury after Bubba inadvertently broke Orton’s foot during a tag team match at a 2003 WWE live event in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Recalling the match, D-Von said everything began normally before disaster struck almost immediately.

“The match started off pretty good. I started off with Randy. We had a good opening for the match, and then Randy tagged Batista. Bubba comes in and they lock up.”

Batista Injured His Tricep During Infamous WWE Match

According to D-Von, Bautista suffered a freak triceps injury before he even made contact with Bubba.

“Batista got Bubba into the corner. He went to mush Bubba in the face to show the heel type in him, and as soon as he went to shove him, his tricep tore. It was the freakiest accident I think I’d ever seen.”

Moments later, Orton was injured during a flapjack spot.

“Me and Bubba were going to give Randy a flapjack. Somehow, Bubba’s leg got underneath Randy. When we came down to the mat, Bubba landed on his ankle. You could hear this god-awful scream from Randy because his foot right then and there was broken.”

With three of the four competitors injured, D-Von said he was left standing in the ring wondering what had just happened.

“Bubba was on the ground barely moving. Batista’s hurt. Randy’s hurt. Bubba’s hurt. I’m like, ‘What the hell do I do?'”

D-Von also addressed Bautista’s claim that Bubba yelled at Orton while he was being loaded into an ambulance. While he doesn’t remember that happening, he acknowledged that his memory may differ from Bautista’s or Orton’s.

“I don’t really recall Bubba yelling and screaming at Randy. Maybe those two remember. I don’t know. I can’t say yes or no to that.”

Instead, D-Von recalled Bubba expressing confusion over the accident.

“I remember him being wheeled off into the ambulance, and Bubba saying, ‘D-Von, I don’t know how that happened.’ I know Bubba was upset about it.”

Did Bully Ray and Randy Orton Squash Their Alleged Beef?

D-Von went on to reveal that Bubba Ray and Randy Orton eventually buried the hatchet before The Dudleys returned to WWE for their second run.

“Randy and Bubba kind of made up a little bit. They talked about it. I don’t know if it was on the phone or in person. It was right before we came back for our second run, and they pretty much squashed the beef.”

However, he noted that the same couldn’t be said for Bubba and Bautista.

“Batista and Bubba, I don’t believe they did talk. I think when they saw each other at the shows, they just didn’t say anything. They looked at each other and turned away.”

D-Von concluded by saying he’d rather leave the incident in the past.

“The book was out in 2007, and we’re still talking about it to this day. I would like to just move on from it and forget that it ever happened.”
