WWE‘s CM Punk mostly stays off social media, but when he does log in, it’s for two interesting reasons.
Reigning Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk was the latest guest on the What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon podcast. During the conversation, he was asked how often he uses social media. Punk revealed that he’s not on TikTok and that he abandoned his X/Twitter account about five years ago. His last tweet was posted on June 3, 2022, when he was with AEW.
However, CM Punk noted that he’s on his phone too much, and does log in to Instagram to look at dogs and food and share some posts with his wife, AJ Lee.
“I don’t have a TikTok. I abandoned Twitter, I don’t know, like five years ago. It’s so much better. Self-admittedly, I am on my phone too much. Like, my wife will ask me a question, and I’ll start Googling. I have Instagram to look at dogs, and what else is in my feed? Food. Food everywhere.”
When asked what his favorite food was, CM Punk said, “Yeah, of course (when suggested Chicago pizza). But, like, dessert. It’s a plethora of sending April (AJ Lee), like, ‘Look at these pancakes. Oh, look at these waffles.'”
WWE star says CM Punk was nothing like the stories he’d heard after meeting him
During his recent appearance on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast, WWE’s Finn Balor opened up about working with CM Punk. He recalled not having any interactions with him until Punk returned to WWE in 2023. Balor admitted that he heard “horror stories” about the Straight Edge Superstar being difficult to work with, but said his experience was the exact opposite.
“Punk is someone I’d never really interacted with much. I’d actually only met him one time in my life at Samoa Joe’s wedding. This is back in, like, 2002/2003, maybe. Then he had left WWE when I signed with NXT. So we never really had any interactions,” Balor began.
“I’ll go on the record saying I’d heard horror stories about Punk being this a**hole, being difficult to deal with, being a big-headed guy that no one wants to work with. When he came back to WWE, it could not have been the opposite. I met this guy who was humble, polite, wanted to work with people, and I’m pretty sure he went to the office, and he said he wanted this match. I don’t think it came from the office. I think it came from Punk,” Balor said.
