Top WWE Star Set To Appear On New Season Of ESPN’s My Wish

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins will be part of ESPN’s milestone 20th anniversary season of My Wish.

ESPN Front Row announced the lineup for this year’s edition of the long-running series, which has been fulfilling the wishes of young sports fans facing serious illnesses since 2006. The new season premieres on Sunday, July 19, and will feature five children from across the United States alongside athletes including A’ja Wilson, Scottie Scheffler, Fernando Tatis Jr., the University of Tennessee football program, and Seth Rollins.

Rollins’ episode will spotlight six-year-old Ledger from Mississippi, who was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of three. According to ESPN, Ledger drew inspiration from the two-time World Heavyweight Champion throughout his battle with the disease.

ESPN shared the following description of their meeting:

“Diagnosed with leukemia at age three, Ledger found inspiration in his favorite WWE superstar, Seth Rollins. When the Mississippi native meets the two-time World Heavyweight Champion, his ‘Ledger the Great’ persona becomes an instant sensation and a stirring tribute to the inner strength of this courageous six-year-old.”

The upcoming season marks the 20th anniversary of My Wish and will bring the total number of wishes fulfilled by the series to 93.

The preliminary episode airs on SportsCenter at 8:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, July 19, with the remaining episodes scheduled to air at 7:00 a.m. ET on subsequent days.
