The Motor City Machine Guns have fans talking after releasing a comedic video that appears to tease their next move following their WWE departures.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, who were released by WWE earlier this year, uploaded a YouTube video titled “Release.” The skit pokes fun at their exit from the company while seemingly hinting at where they could be headed next.
The video opens with Shelley helping Sabin work through the “five stages of grief” after their WWE release. During the parody, Sabin hilariously prays to wrestling legends Karl Gotch and Harley Race. He then attempts to cope by randomly planking on various objects, a playful nod to Johnny Gargano.
The pair then move on to reviewing a box filled with “Professional Wrestling Contracts” and potential offers. As they sift through the stack, they mention several promotions, including FMW, CyberFight, WAR, IWA Mid-South, W*ING, Toryumon X, and the fictional “Mrs. Chainsaw Pro Wrestling.”
One contract leaves Sabin so disgusted that he refuses to even say the promotion’s name out loud, adding another comedic moment to the skit.
The Motor City Machine Guns seem to have a preferred destination
The biggest tease comes at the end of the video. Shelley and Sabin pull out one final contract, which begins glowing as angelic music plays in the background. An overjoyed Sabin jumps onto the table in celebration. The video ends with a dramatic drone shot pulling away from the duo.
The contract itself is never revealed. However, the ending has fueled widespread fan speculation that The Motor City Machine Guns are teasing a move to AEW. Neither Shelley nor Sabin has confirmed their next destination at this time, but the video has only intensified anticipation surrounding their free agency.
