‘The Painmaker’ Chris Jericho brought the pain to Tommaso Ciampa in a brutal no-holds-barred match at AEW Redemption.
The match began with Chris Jericho making his way out to the ring with a barbed wire baseball bat, and Tommaso Ciampa getting an equalizer with a steel chair. After they swung at each other with their weapons, with Ciampa forcing Jericho to drop the bat, the latter fired back by grabbing a bag with sand from Beach Break and throwing it on the Psycho Killer’s eyes.
However, it only stopped him for a while, and when he started to gain some momentum and set up a table outside the ring, Chris Jericho stopped him by blinding him with a fire extinguisher shot. After a series of action, Ciampa ended up gaining the upper hand by hitting a tiger driver on Jericho through the table.
Tommaso Ciampa then introduced a trashcan and a hockey stick, and used the latter on Chris Jericho’s mouth. He then pulled out a Boston Bruins jersey, wore it, pulled out a plushie of the Montreal Canadiens mascot Youppi, beat it with a stick, and even hit it with a backstabber to get some heat from the fans.
Chris Jericho made Tommaso Ciampa by using a power drill
Chris Jericho then came in, laid out Tommaso Ciampa, and introduced a bag full of hockey pucks and thumbtacks. He then pulled out sandpaper and ground it against Ciampa’s forehead to bust him open. The match turned more chaotic after that as the contenders brought in a barbed wire table, a hockey puck covered in thumbtacks, and an elbow pad with thumbtacks.
The Painmaker then stabbed the Psycho Killer with a pencil on the thigh, brought in a mirror and set it up with a couple of chairs, but went through it himself after Ciampa sent him crashing through it. Tommaso Ciampa then brought out a power drill, but Jericho sprayed him with the green mist.
The final moments saw Chris Jericho smashing a barbed wire mirror on Tommaso Ciampa’s back, and forcing the latter to tap out by using the power drill on his forehead to get the win.
