Willow Nightingale Becomes First Women’s AEW Grand Slam Champion With Latest Title Win

Willow Nightingale made history tonight, becoming the first AEW star to claim the company’s Grand Slam Champion status.

During Saturday’s AEW Redemption pay-per-view, Nightingale took on Thekla in a match to try and take the title off the champion. She did just that, but not before some chaos occurred. Nightingale looked ready to win early in the match, but Skye Blue showed up to interfere.

Willow hit a powerbomb on Blue outside of the ring, and then kicked out of a Spear attempt from Thekla. Late in the match, Nightingale won after countering a backslide from Thekla into a pin. Thekla was clearly upset at the loss, but Nightingale was overjoyed, before being joined by The Conglomeration, who celebrated with her.

With the win, Nightingale became AEW’s first-ever Women’s Grand Slam Champion, having claimed She’s a two-time AEW TBS Champion, has won the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship (with Harley Cameron), and also won the 2023 Owen Hart tournament.

Next up for Nightingale, though, is a big match. She’ll face off against Mercedes Moné at AEW All In for the belt, after Moné won 2026’s Owen Hart tournament.
