AJ Styles Questions How Long WWE Will Wait to Make Bron Breakker World Champion

AJ Styles believes Bron Breakker has all the tools to become the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles praised Breakker’s rapid development. Moreover, he questioned why WWE has yet to pull the trigger on a world title reign. His comments come amid recent reports that WWE’s creative plans for Breakker have changed.

According to Dave Meltzer, WWE had originally planned for Breakker to defeat CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship after losing a major match to the champion. However, those plans reportedly fell apart after Seth Rollins’ injury, forcing WWE to alter the timeline for The Vision’s split from Rollins. Meltzer added that recent booking decisions suggest Breakker is no longer positioned as the company’s top priority.

“I wouldn’t write Breakker off as dead, but this move and everything in the past month really seems to indicate [Oba] Femi is the guy and Breakker is a guy,” Meltzer said.

AJ Styles believes Bron Breakker is ready for a WWE World Title run

Despite the reported shift in direction, Styles remains convinced that Breakker is more than ready for the main event scene.

“How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be heavyweight champion? He should be next. I think that he’s definitely a star right now. Why we haven’t put it on him to put the rocket up his butt and send him to the freaking moon? I don’t know why we haven’t done that because he is the destroyer.”

Styles acknowledged that Breakker’s recent injury may have delayed his push but argued that the powerhouse has returned looking even more dangerous than before.

“The fact he was out and now he’s back and he’s even scarier than before. Like, let’s go. Freaking let’s do this because we all know that it’s all about the chase. The babyface chasing the heel. Bron Breakker is the heel.”

The veteran made it clear he is not advocating for Breakker to split from his current alliance, but he believes it’s only a matter of time before the former WWE Intercontinental Champion reaches the top of the singles division.

At the time of writing, Breakker is not scheduled to compete at SummerSlam. Following Logan Paul’s injury, he replaced Paul as Austin Theory’s co-holder of the World Tag Team Championship, leaving him outside the world title picture for WWE’s biggest event of the summer.
