LayCool vs Melina
LayCool is using the Freebird Rule and both are co-champions, but Layla will defend tonight. Melina unloads on Layla in the corner then kicks her head into the mat. Layla throws her out of the ring but Melina clotheslines her down then goes after Michelle McCool at ringside. She jumps over the announcer’s table and runs after who Michelle, who uses King and Cole and shields then jumps the barricade.
Melina chases Michelle into the crowd and tries swinging at her, but can’t reach since Michelle in behind the barricade. Melina goes back to the match and rams Layla into the apron, and kicks her in the face when they get back in the ring. Melina puts Layla on the top turnbuckle but Layla fights her off and hits a somersault jawbreaker off the middle rope to retain.
Winner (and still champion(s) – LayCool
Josh Mathews in backstage to interview Chris Jericho, and he asks what Jericho’s announcement is. Jericho says it’s not about his match with Morrison, but he wants to talk about his new DVD that is coming out. He says it is not all about selling DVD’s but it is about him getting better than he ever was. He says he got the IP address from Cole’s laptop and he is close to exposing the GM’s real identity, and he will blackmail him and force him to give Jericho another title shot.
Randy Orton walks up behind him and says they should fight next week, and if Jericho wins he can have the title shot. Orton says if they do fight, he is pretty sure Jericho won’t be seen for a very long time, and says he’ll see him next week.
