Backstage Evan Bourne tries to thank John Cena for last week, but Cena says it is not necessary. Cena says Bourne proved himself to everyone that he is one of the toughest and most energizing guys out in the WWE. Savannah comes up to Cena and asks him if he is worried about not knowing his opponent tonight. He says after all he has been through, he knows he can go to the ring and do what he does every week. He says the WWE Universe will make a right and fair decision and he is not worried. He hopes whoever his opponent is has the same frame of mind and he walks away.
Murdoch wakes up from the gas in the locker room and asks what happened. MEAN Gene Okerlund comes in (I marked out) and says he has been watching the whole thing and Murdoch has a problem. Mean Gene calls him delusional and says B.A. is gone. Gene says the guy that replaced him is a clown, and Josh Mathews is standing right behind him. Gene says the new A-Team movie will blow the show out of the water and Murdoch looks inspired and runs off. Josh tries to speak with Gene and Gene cuts him off and calls him a loser.
Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring and Teddy Long introduces the choices for his opponents. He will face Yoshi Tatsu, Goldust or a "mystery partner", and the mystery guy does a familiar pose as the fans cheer. Drew waits in the ring to find out the results and it’s Matt Hardy. Matt thanks Teddy Long and yells "We got him!" as he heads to the ring. Drew says the match isn’t happening and he got Hardy suspended. Teddy says Hardy was suspended from Smackdown, not RAW, and they ring the bell.

Hardy lays into Drew and throws him across the announce table. Hardy then whips him into the barricade and then sends him shoulder first into the ringpost. Hardy rolls him back inside and Drew gets a big boot. Drew tries rushing the corner but Hardy moves and hits the Twist of Fate for the win. After the bell, Hardy slams Drew’s head into the mat and rips at his hair. Drew finally gets away and crawls up the ramp and Hardy is holding clumps of Drew’s hair in his hands.
