John Cena Wants The Rock In A Match At WrestleMania, More

John CenaThe following is an excerpt from an interview with John Cena from The Sun:

You see, even in a brief review one cannot help but allude back to wrestling.

This is a tag which Dwayne Johnson, formerly known as The Rock, has been keen to shrug off. Cena is in no such hurry.

He said: "You need to know that I’m not leaving the ring.

"In WWE, there’s a lot of folks who like me and a lot who don’t, and those that don’t are just waiting for me to leave.

"What gets to me is people questioning my resolve. People who think I’m in WWE as a stepping stone and don’t think I’m telling the truth.

"The only thing I can do is keep doing what I’m doing."

In February last year, John caused a global storm after criticising The Rock on The Sun’s WrestleCast for saying he loved the business but then leaving and not giving back.

And, despite praising his rival personally, John is still not backing down.

He admits: "Rock’s a hardworking guy, he’s a great guy.

"I’m just speaking as a selfish wrestling fan. The same kind of selfish wrestling fan who would boo me for whatever reason.

"Selfishly, I miss him in the ring. I wish he would come back. He is physically in his prime. One of the greatest sports entertainers we’ve ever had. But he’s an actor now.

"The trouble is, here I am telling everybody I love the business – it’s the same thing Rock said then went out and made movies.

"He’s basically made my life tougher.

"I’d love to have him back. I’d love to have a WrestleMania match with him – maybe next year.

"I would love that. That would be great."

It’s clear that Cena is what he says he is – a fan of the wrestling business, not just a participant.
