Prime Time Pro Wrestling returns to the Event Center in Columbus, GA, tonight with the following advertised matches: Elix Skipper vs. Sal Rinauro. Southside Trash vs. David Tate & J.P. Archer. Frankie Valentine vs. Dustin Powers. David Young vs. Rob Adonis. Bulldog Raines vs. Colt Derringer. Tag Team Title Match, first defense for the new champions, Simon Sermon & Thomas Britain (with Sir Charles Donovan) vs. The Hollywood Brunettes (Andrew Alexander & Kyle Matthews). The new PTPW Heavyweight Champion Chris Stevens makes his first title defense vs. Jake Slater (with J. P. Money). Bell time is 7:30pm.

Florida Championship Wrestling will be at the Pinellas Boys & Girls Club in Pinellas Park, FL, tonight. Admission is $10 people 11 and over and $5 for kids 10 and under. Bell time is 8:00.

World Wrestling Alliance 4 results from October 8 in Atlanta, GA: Jena beat Jonathan Davis to win the Internet Title. WWA4 title match: Reece Royale beat Jake Diamond. “Punisher” Kaiden Knight beat Jonathan Davis and Miguel Rivera over Rick King.

The results from the October 4 Southern States Championship Wrestling event in Enigma, GA: Maddog Miller defeated The Lumberjack by DQ due to outside interference from “Superstar” Josh Kell. Kelly Foxx & Matt Liquor defeated Samantha Steel & The Soviet. “Playboy” John Johnson defeated “Rock N Roll” Chris Turner to become the new Southern Heritage champion. Logan Stevens defeated “Superstar” Josh Kell in a Southern Heritage #1 contenders match. “Hardcore” Brooks Rogers & “Modern Day Enforcer” Scotty Biggs defeated Unknown Soldier & Demolition Ax. In a SSCW championship match, “Mr. Saturday Night” Jarrod Michaels vs. J.T. Taylor ended in a no contest. Attendance was 143. The next SSCW event will be on December 6. Scheduled is a ladder match for the SSCW championship between “Mr. Saturday Night” Jarrod Michaels vs. J.T. Taylor.

SSCW will be having its â<80><9c>Holiday Classicâ<80> on December 6 at the Enigma Gym in Enigma, GA. Advertised: For the SSCW championship, Jarrod Michaels defends vs. J.T. Taylor in a ladder match. In a last man standing match, “Hardcore” Brooks Rogers vs. Unknown Soldier. “Playboy” John Johnson defends the Southern Heritage championship against Logan Stevens. “Rock N Roll” Chris Turner & Mad Dog Miller vs. The Log Jammers. Tickets are $3.00. Bell time is at 7:30. All proceeds from this event goes to charity.

Deep South Wrestling returns to action on October 25 with Jody Hamilton at the helm. The show will take place in McDonough, GA, at the Liberty Village Shopping Center. Details on the card will be posted as soon as they become available.

The next I Believe in Wrestling event will be on October 25 at the Downtown Recreation Center in Orlando, FL. Advertised: “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko defends the AWA championship vs. Scott Davis. Team Vision defends the AWA tag championships vs. Bumz R Us. AWA World-1 South presents the “3rd Annual Old School Tag Team Tournament 2008” at Buck’s Place in Ellaville, GA, on November 8. Two of the nine teams scheduled will be in a tournament qualifying match. Teams advertised are The Rock N Roll Express, The New Heavenly Bodies, The Heartbreak Express, Double Deuce, Southside Trash, Dark City Fight Club, Nick Fame & Scott Davis, The Lifeguards, and The Loggers. Pro Wrestling Xtremeâ<80><99>s debut event titled â<80><9c>UNCENSOREDâ<80> will take place on January 17 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds Pavilion at 4603 W. Colonial Drive in Orlando, FL, with a start time of 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm and a Meet & Greet complete with both vendors & wrestlers. Advertised: The Sandman vs. Sabu in a TLC match, Demolition (Ax & Smash) vs. The Heartbreak Express, King Kong Bundy issues an open challenge. Also scheduled to appear: Balls Mahoney, The Sheik (obviously not the original), Ray Beez, Ken Kendrick, Mike Tobin, Craig Classic and others to be announced.

It is unclear as to how El Mongol came to be recognized as Georgia Heavyweight Champion. The last reference we have shows him losing the title to Bobby Shane on September 29, 1967, in Atlanta. Louie Tillet had been the reigning US Junior Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Bobby Hart on January 17, 1967, in Macon.

Paul DeMarco was initially declared the winner in the match with Dory Funk, Jr., but the decision was reversed when a ringside official overruled the referee. Funk, Jr., had been the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Gene Kiniski on February 11, 1969, in Tampa, FL. Homer Oâ<80><99>Dell managed DeMarco. It is unclear as to how the Assassins came to be recognized as Georgia Tag Team Champions. The last reference we have shows Chati Yokuchi & Mr. Ito defeating El Mongol & the Professional to win the title on July 10, 1969, in Athens. Leo Garibaldi was credited as being a referee on this card.

OCTOBER 10, 1970 (SATURDAY) â<80>” ATLANTA, GA â<80>” WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones â<80>” Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Kubla Khan defeated Pepe Gomez > Doug Gilbert & El Mongol defeated the Assassins by disqualification > Paul DeMarco defeated the Red Demon / Notes: This was taped for the â<80><9c>Atlanta TV Wrestlingâ<80> television program hosted by Ed Capral. Jack Crawford managed Kubla Khan. It was announced that there would be a round robin tournament held for the vacant Georgia Tag Team Title on October 16, 1970. The title had been held up on September 26, 1970, following a September 25, 1970 match between champions Bobby Shane & Doug Gilbert and the Assassins. Shane & Gilbert had been declared the winners, but the Assassins claimed that the headgear worn by the champions created an unfair advantage.
