As Ryan Gray noted earlier here on the site, Kurt Angle got pretty banged up during his match with Samoa Joe at last night’s TNA LockDown PPV. After the match Angle’s back and neck were both hurting. Angle was no-selling the injuries backstage but the belief is he was actually briefly knocked out during the match.
After the show was over, everyone headed back to the hotel wehre the TNA stars were staying. Karen Angle arrived before Kurt and told fans in the lobby that Kurt was hurt during his match and wouldn’t be able to sign autographs or take photos. When Kurt arrived, he had a large icepack on his neck. He got a huge reaction from the fans in the lobby, but Kurt went directly up to his room and did not return.
Angle and Joe worked a very stiff match at the PPV. Many within TNA are seeing their match as an example of how the TNA style could evolve to include more aspects of Mixed Martial Arts. Kurt Angle will get a rematch against Samoa Joe at this weekend’s Northeastern Wrestling event this Friday in Newburgh, NY.
