CNN/Wrestling, Bret Hart Notes, & More News

CNN will air a show called “Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling” on Wednesday at 8 pm. EST.

The new Bret Hart book, which has already hit the bookshelves in Canada, will likely not be released in the United States until the Spring of 2008. Hart has said they are negotiating with Simon & Shuster and Random House for the rights to the U.S. distribution of the 500 page plus book. If Simon & Shuster gains the rights to the book in the United States, it could have a WWE tie in. When asked about the book being condensed for publication, Hart said he only regrets that a handful of Stampede stories had to be removed. Hart started to work on the book in 1999.

WrestleMania XXIV is already the highest grossing event in the history of the Citrus Bowl. As I reported yesterday, it is believed that the event has sold close to 50,000 tickets. The venue can hold 65,000-70,000 fans depending on whether or not WWE opts to bring in bleachers for the show.

Both Ring of Honor and Full Impact Pro have announced that they will be holding live events over WrestleMania 24 weekend in Orlando, Florida. WWE will also hold their annual Hall of Fame ceremony. It is still up in the air as to when TNA will hold their television tapings in regards to the WWE festivities.
