More Random Notes From Inside The Arena:
-Nice try, King. Jerry Lawler just tried a cover-up job on commentary, claiming the fans at MSG were chanting “Mark Henry” during the World Heavyweight Championship match. Eh-eh! WrestleZone’s own Nick Paglino just chimed in with the latest, clearing up the chants. The rabid fans at MSG were in fact chanting “Sexual Chocolate” (referencing Mark Henry’s old “attitude era” nickname). A few moments later, a random “D’Lo Brown” chant broke out. And if that wasn’t enough, as you could clearly tell on the PPV broadcast, a very loud “boring” chant broke out. I concur! Paglino says of the MSG crowd, “The Garden is awesome!” Now we have some very random “Daniel Bryan” chants, which Michael Cole on commentary acknowledged, putting over Henry’s beatdown of Bryan on TV leading into the Survivor Series. Now we have an “Under-Taker” chant. Talk about some random chants. I guess the crowd has to entertain themselves somehow during this “big guy” match. More updates to follow shortly.
-Nicky Pag chimes in again to inform us that the MSG crowd is BERZERKER-MODE hot for CM Punk before he even comes out. When Howard Finkel is introduced as Punk’s personal ring announcer to combat Ricardo Rodriguez for Alberto Del Rio, the crowd was blitzkrieg-hot for that spot as well. Loud “Howard-Finkel” chants. When CM Punk finally did come out, it was almost as loud as Punk in Chicago for Money In The Bank earlier this year. The crowd was absolutely ballistic for his full entrance. Even though it came off as totally ELECTRIC on the PPV broadcast, Nick assures us it couldn’t of done it justice as the crowd was completely insane for Punk. Late in the match, a loud “Randy Savage” chant broke out following Punk’s atomic elbow-drop tribute to the late, great “Macho Man.” The pop for Del Rio’s tap, leading to Punk becoming new WWE Champion was out of this world. WrestleZone’s own Nick Paglino described it as follows, “Crowd is absolutely going bonkers over this win and Howard Finkel (announcing Punk as new champ).” Yes, the man used the word “bonkers,” that’s how crazy it is inside that building right now.
