Piper Niven has offered fans another encouraging update during her lengthy absence from WWE, providing fresh insight into her recovery without revealing what comes next for her in-ring future.
The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion shared the update nearly a year after disappearing from television following what became a serious neck injury.
While there’s still no timetable for a return, her latest news is a step in the right direction.
Piper Niven provides encouraging recovery update after neck surgery
Taking to X, Niven revealed that she attended her six-week post-surgery checkup following neck fusion surgery. Alongside an X-ray image, she shared a brief but positive message: “6 week post surgery check up today. Everything fusing nicely.”
The update comes after months of uncertainty surrounding her condition. Niven has been sidelined since the Aug. 22, 2025, episode of SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, shortly after earning what many viewed as the biggest victory of her WWE career by defeating Charlotte Flair. Unfortunately, that momentum was cut short when a serious neck injury forced her out of action.
Niven also responded to a fan on social media, revealing why she and her medical team chose a single-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) instead of a more extensive procedure.
“Yes, that was partially why it took so long as what would have been ‘best’ was a triple fusion but a triple fusion would have meant no return to the ring… I wanted to fight and see how I do with the one level first,” she explained.
The decision reflects Niven’s determination to keep the door open for a wrestling comeback, even if the road remains long. It’s a reminder that this recovery is more of a marathon than a Royal Rumble, with patience taking center stage.
Before her injury, Niven was aligned with Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre as part of the Secret Hervice. Since then, the group has quietly dissolved following Fyre’s departure from WWE.
For now, Niven’s focus remains firmly on rehabilitation. While there is still no guarantee of an in-ring return, her latest medical update offers fans another positive sign as she continues her recovery journey.
