TNA Impact Wrestling (June 14, 2012)

Report by Matt Boone and WrestleZone.com

TNA Impact Wrestling Opener:

Tonight's show opened with a video package on James Storm. The basic focus is whether or not Storm will be able to finish his quest to get the TNA World Title.

From there, Mike Tenay welcomes us live into the building in Orlando. This show is officially underway, children! Taz plugs the Bound For Glory gauntlet series, as well as Mr. Anderson vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA World Title.

X-Division Title: Austin Aries (c) vs. Chris Sabin vs. Zema Ion (Ultimate-X Match)

Zema Ion immediately goes up on the cords to attempt to end this one before it gets started. No dice. We have some typical fast-paced X-Division style action now, with all three guys seemingly working in fast-forward mode. Sabin hits a tornado DDT off the top, prompting a loud "TNA" chant from the fans in Orlando. Sabin and Aries are fighting on the top rope now, both looking to get a hold of the cable above the ring. A few moments later, Aries hits a huge dive onto the floor on Sabin. The crowd went nuts for that, as you would expect. The finish came when Aries hit the Brainbuster to sideline both guys, allowing him to climb to the center of the cords and pull down the title to retain.

Winner and STILL TNA X-Division Champion: Austin Aries

Post-Match: Aries Promo

Aries says he came to TNA a year ago, and he boasted on his way in quite a bit. He claimed he was better than everyone. He said everyone thought that was just hot air, but he's proven it over time. He says no matter where he is on the card, he's the real main event of every TNA show. After saying all that, he says he's not satisfied with the X-Division Title. As he continues talking, Hulk Hogan's music hits to interupt him. Out comes Hogan. As Hogan comes out, we head to commercial.
