(4) Winner Becomes Contender for Championship Thursday
AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels
Angle and Styles start the match off using Daniels as a human pingpong ball, firing off with rights and lefts. The two finally lock up, with AJ leapfrogging over Angle and taking him down with a standing drop kick. Daniels spears them both in the corner, and tries to slingshot Styles into Angle, but it's reversed sending Daniels straight into a big clothesline by the Olympic Champion. Angle is fired up now, hitting suplexes on both men one right after the other, but Styles kicks him straight in the head! Styles goes for the Clash, but Angle rolls it into the Ankle lock, until Daniels breaks the hold.
Daniles throws Angle into the ring post, and plants Styles with an STO for a quick two-count. Daniels locks in a 3/4 Nelson while the crowd gets behind AJ. Angle back in now to break it up, but Styles it back to his feet, taking it to both men. AJ hits a big splash on Angle in the corner, and hits him int he head with a springboard flying forearm. Daniels rolls him up from behind, but only gets two. Kurt Angle explodes out with a T-Bone suplex on Daniels and then sets his sights to AJ, who hits the Pele from out of nowhere! He sends Daniels out to the floor, and instead of going back to Angle he lands a springboard moonsault to Daniels on the outside! AJ rolls Daniels back into the ring, but Angle takes advantage and hits the Olympic Slam for the victory.
Winner: Kurt Angle
After the match Angle tries to shake Styles' hand, but AJ won't have any of it. He leaves the Impact Zone looking upset that he did all the work, and couldn't pick up the victory.
Backstage Joey Ryan finds Hulk Hogan and introduces himself. Hogan tells Ryan he's a big fan. He then turns his sights to Matt Morgan, and asks what's been going on with him. Morgan says it goes back to Hogan's first promo in Impact Wrestling, when Hogan promised to make him a household name. Morgan actually calls Hogan "Terry", who talks backstage politics and management being unimpressed with charisma and promo work. Morgan pins Hogan to the wall and says that he's going to take everything they've said about Morgan, and shove it straight up Hogan's ass.
