The Undercard
Kofi Kingston loses to Cody Rhodes. The single's career for Rhodes seems to be back on track, with a victory against a fan favorite in Kingston. The match was pretty entertaining to me, with Rhodes having to fight back from Kingston's usual flurry of offense. Kingston uses his feet so well and so quickly, and you were able to see that when he dropkicked Rhodes through the ropes. This is something that looks so easy, but Kingston makes it look great. Rhodes was able to turn the tables when he hit a disaster kick and finishing him off with Cross Rhodes. I still am uncertain why they broke up Rhodes Scholars, especially since there are no other teams that can compete on a weekly basis with Kane and Bryan, but Cody needs a big push in the singles scene. It is well overdue, and I hope he at least gets back to challenging for mid card titles. Grade: B
Jack Swagger defeats Justin Gabriel. Another week of Swagger, and it looks like he will take an easy squash. He fends off a quick attack from Gabriel, hits a scoop slam, locks in the Patriot Act, and that is all she wrote. I think this is smart to build Swagger up so dominantly. He was on the other side before he left, so this is needed to get it in the WWE Universes' head that Swagger is a beast. Even if it is him beating rarely used talent. Grade: C+
Tensai defeated Drew McIntyre by Disqualification. 3MB comes in to beat down Tensai, but Brodus Clay comes to the rescue. I mean, what else can you say about this? Tensai and Brodus have both failed in what everyone was expecting, so why not throw them together to make the kids laugh and dance? At least they aren't getting squashed each week now after dominating in their debuts. Grade: C-
Antonio Cesaro defeated Sin Cara in a match that was pretty much dominated by Cesaro. I love the aggression and ruthless offense from Cesaro. He is a wonderful throwback, and this match was just for his showcasing once again. Cara had no chance, and Cesaro took the early advantage with knees to the face. Cara got a few arial moves on, but Cesaro would hit a European Uppercut and the Neutralizer for the win. Cara needs to stick in tag action, keep him relevant in that picture. Grade: B-
