The Wrestling Observer is reporting that while rock star Billy Corgan may be interested in buying TNA Wrestling, he neither has the financial means to purchase the company, much less carry it on a long term basis. There have been some reports of Corgan in talks with a "wealthy friend" who could invest in partial ownership, but as always these are all rumors and nothing concrete has come out. Lou D'Angeli, who had previously confirmed that Corgan was interested in the TNA buyout, has since deleted all his Tweets about the matter.
Furthermore, it appears Billy Corgan isn't even first in line when it comes to the interested parties showing interest.
There have been so many mixed reports coming out on the issue. TNA Wrestling and Panda Energy have internally insisted that the company is not for sale, however Dave Meltzer of the Observer insists that there are serious conversations going on. We exclusively reported that Corgan was interested in buying TNA, which appears to be true, whether or not he has the means to do so.
