TNA Impact Wrestling Results (4/10) – #1 Contender KO’s Match, Dixie Returns, EY Shocks Magnus!

Christy Hemme calls Samuel Shaw out to the ring to talk about commitment, and she tells them to stop when they start chanting 'creepy bastard'. Christy says she had a change of heart and he is just misunderstood, and Shaw says he is glad she finally saw the light. Shaw says he is the love of her life, and Christy flirts with him and asks if he would go anywhere she asked him to. She lays it on thick and tells him to close his eyes, and he listens, not seeing Ken Anderson pulling up in a Psychiatric Services van backstage. Anderson runs out and Shaw swings at him, but Anderson drops him with a Mic Check and says they are going to the funny farm. He says this is the commitment Christy meant, then Anderson drags him backstage and throws him in the van, but Shaw kicks the door and runs away.

BP: Kind of obvious set up, but I just wasn't into it. Christy isn't that good of an actress, and Anderson went a little too slapstick with it. I like the feud itself and the two wrestlers, but this just seemed to be dragging a bit. With that said, their previous matches have been pretty decent, so I'm thinking this leads to another match at Sacrifice.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship

Eric Young vs Magnus (c)

Magnus taunts Eric and gets a dropkick in return, then Eric goes for a moonsault but Magnus rolls away and hits a running knee strike. Eric lands on the floor and holds him arm, but Magnus goes right after him and slams him into the apron before rolling him in. Magnus throws him back outside and slams him into the steps as we go to a break, then we get back to see Magnus put Eric in a sleeperhold. Magnus transitions to a Camel Clutch but Eric counters with an electric chair drop, then he hits a wheelbarrow slam and a top rope elbow for two. Eric whips him but Magnus reverses and clotheslines the back of his head, then Magnus hits a Mag Daddy Driver for a close near fall. Magnus gets his title but the ref takes it from him, and Eric goes for a Death Valley Driver but Magnus drops him with a low blow. Eric kicks out of the pin attempt and gets a crucifix rollup for two, then he drops Magnus with a piledriver for the win.

Winner and NEW TNA World Heavyweight Champion – Eric Young

BP: In a move that I think no one saw coming, Eric Young won the TNA WHC, and did it clean. I have to say Magnus had a pretty lackluster run with the strap, so I'm not unhappy to see him lose. Curious to see where they go from here, but congrats to the new champ.
