4/29 WWE Main Event Results: Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt, Bad News Barrett in Action, Paige Preps for Extreme Rules & More

Wade Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston

Barrett runs into an elbow from Kofi, who comes off the ropes with a springboard crossbody for a two-count. Barrett catches him witha  tilt-the-whirl backbreaker, and pulls down the elbow pad, turning it inside-out. Kofi ducks under the Bullhammer and tries for a quick roll-up, but doesn't quite get it. They brawl to the outside, and Barrett tries to throw Kingston into the steps, but he leaps clear over them instead. Kofi flies off the steps, but Barrett catches him with the Bullhammer out of nowhere, rolling him in the ring for the win.

Winner: Bad News Barrett

KILLAM: Solid quick match that keeps Barrett in the back of your mind heading into his Intercontinental Championship match this Sunday. Nothing wrong with that.

Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt

The two lock up in the center of the ring, with neither really winning an advantage. Wyatt wins a lock-up and goes into a rest hold, but eventually Sheamus battles back with rights and lefts. He tosses his opponent to the apron and tries for those ten clubbing blows, but Harper and Rowan make the save, and we go to a commercial break.

After the break, Wyatt and Sheamus are battling on the apron with the Family circling them like sharks. Wyatt with a cover for a one-count, which frustrates him. He hits a senton splash in the middle of the ring, and then starts to mock the crowd. A dude in the front row flips him the double birds, which is plain as day on camera. Bray goes back into a side headlock, and Sheamus slowly fights outs with right hands, only to get body slammed.

Wyatt goes for another senton, but Sheamus gets his knees up and is back in this match. They trade right hands and Sheamus of course wins, followed by several shoulder tackles. Sheamus with a big running knee lift, followed by another in the corner. He heads up to the top rope, jumping over Bray Wyatt, but is caught with a uranage slam for a two-count. Bray goes to the corner and does his upside-down thing, telling his opponent to get up. He tries for Sister Abigail, but Sheamus counters with White Noise! 1…2…nope.

Finally Sheamus goes to the apron and hits his ten beats of the blah-blah, followed by a springboard shoulder tackle. He ducks under a clothesline, but both guys collide in mid-air with Wyatt landing on top for a count of two-and-a-half. Bray gets up first, ducking under the Brogue Kick, but Sheamus ends up catching with an Irish Curse backbreaker! He starts to set up for the Brogue, but gets distracted by Erick Rowan. He'll settle for a running powerslam, but comes up short with another two-count.

Sheamus knocks Rowan off the apron and goes for the Brogue Kick on Harper, who dodges out of the way. He turns around into Wyatt, who hits Sister Abigail for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

-After the match, the entire Wyatt Family attacks Sheamus. The Usos of all people make the save, and the babyfaces clear the ring and celebrate to send Main Event off the air.

KILLAM: A very, very good match to make this episode of Main Event actually worth watching. Lots of people actually came out looking good. Bray Wyatt got a big win, plus Paige looks ready for her title match, the Usos got over big, the tension between the Rhodes Brothers continues, and of course Bad News Barrett feels like a sure-win for Sunday's PPV. A good developmental episode, with a surprisingly good main event.
