5/15 WWE NXT Results: Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd, Women’s Championship Tourny Continues & More

#1 Contender's Match

Tyson Kidd vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Sami Zayn

They all circle each other and then try and 3-way lock up to start the match, but Tyson dropkicks both his opponents. Breeze takes it to Zayn in the corner with boots to the gut. He getse away with more than he normally would, while all up in the ropes, since there's no DQ in a multi-man match. Sami battles back with some dropkicks to everyone, but Breeze flips him on his head with a Beauty Shot.

After a commercial break, Zayn is flying around the ring with sentons and splashes to both guys, in and out of the ring. He gets a crossbody off the top rope and a two-count on Tyson. Sami's the guy in control for several minutes, including a Blue Thunder Bomb and an exploder suplex on Breeze. Kidd with a German on Zayn and all three guys are down. He tries to get Zayn to tap out to the Sharpshooter – fun fact: there are 3 Canadians in this match – but catches a superkick from Prince Pretty.

We're in the slow pace, big spot part of the match now, with Zayn hitting an exploder suplex on Kidd into the turnbuckle, but having his pin broken up. Breeze gets his finisher, but that's broken up. Sami hits a Helluva Kick on Breeze, but Kidd throws him from the ring and comes down with a top rope elbow drop, pinning Tyler for the win.

Winner: Tyson Kidd

KILLAM: Good match. They had enough time to work an appropriate contender's contest with various levels of pacing throughout, slowing things down to build to a good finish. Tyson is a criminally under-used talent, and I'm glad to see him get a push in NXT. Word on the street is he'll be teaming with Evan Bourne on the main roster soon, so don't expect him to actually win the title in two weeks at Takeover. That said, Adrian Neville can't talk at all, so you never know…

Decent show. Next week we find out who the second contender to the women's title is – I'm guessting Natalya – and Bo Dallas probably gets kicked out of NXT forever. Since he's debuting on Smackdown next week, that would make a lot of sense. Also a Tyson Kidd vs. Neville match at Takeover is going to be excellent.
