6/26 WWE NXT Results: Adrian Neville vs. Rob Van Dam, Summer Rae Returns to Action, Big Debut & More

-Tyler Breeze comes down for commentary, kicking Alex Ryley off the booth for the main event.

Adrian Neville vs. Rob Van Dam

The two show each other some respect early on before locking up. Neville wins the first lock-up and they have a stare down. RVD wins the second lock-up and we get another stare down with the fans chanting "whole F'n show". Van Dam with a roll-up for a nearfall, followed by a superkick that sends the champ to the floor. He does the "R-V-D" pose, but gets dropkicked off the apron. Neville breaks the count and comes off the top rope with a moonsault to the floor, taking down his opponent. We come back from a commercial break, and the announce team is still interviewing Breeze instead of calling the action. Van Dam crotches the champion on the top rope, then kicks him to the floor. He hits a spinning leg drop, followed by Rolling Thunder for a two-count. Neville with a sunset flip pin out of nowhere, but RVD rolls through it and plants him with a dropkick. He puts Neville in the tree of woe and works him over with dropkicks. The champ finds some momentum and starts battling back with kicks to the mid-section. He heads up to the second rope and hits a huge missile dropkick, followed by a step-up enzuigiri and a standing moonsault for a two-count. RVD catches him with a snap powerslam, but Neville rolls him up for a close count. They start trading right hands, then elbows, then kicks, and Neville gets the upper hand. Van Dam tosses the champ into the air off an Irish whip and kicks him in the face. He goes to the top and motions for the Five Star, but Neville rolls out of the way in time. Neville win the Red Arrow for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Adrian Neville

-RVD and Neville shake hands after the match, and Van Dam puts over the champion. Breeze stands on the announce table and stares him down as NXT fades to black.

KILLAM: That was a pretty OK match, made worse by an announce team that refused to call the action. When they actually did it was "OH!" and "WOW! What a move!" I like Renee as much as the next guy, but that team has no idea what to do with a match that lasts longer than 3 minutes. Good win for Neville as RVD comes off as a main roster star, despite my not being able to remember the last time he won an important match. I'm not sure why we had to suffer through 10 minutes of Breeze commentary for that 2-second pose on the table.
