Report: Despite WWE 2K15 Inclusion, Sting Has Still Not Signed a Contract

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

sting-wwe2k15According to a new report, even though Sting has been officially advertised as the pre-order bonus for this year’s WWE 2K15 video game, an official contract has still not been signed between the two parties.

As far as the new Sting merchandise goes, and his inclusion in the video game, WWE may well still own the rights to the intellectual property from when they bought out WCW in 2001. A similar situation arose last year when Ultimate Warrior was included in WWE 2K14, but had still not signed an official contract. That doesn’t mean he won’t be used going forward, as WWE seems intent on building up this year’s game and has been testing the waters with the Triple H sit-down interview, the game, and even the recorded segments for the Warrior tribute back in April.

At the very least, Sting is one of the major names being discussed for the 2015 Hall of Fame ceremony, and will more than likely be working out a deal with the WWE in the near future.
