TNA Impact Wrestling Results (9/3) – X Division, World Title Contenders Named, Samoa Joe vs Lashley!

#1 Contender’s Match (World Heavyweight Championship)

Bobby Roode vs Eric Young

Eric and Roode trade shots before Eric applies a headlock, then Roode whips him and avoids a clothesline before setting up a Roode Bomb. Eric floats over so Roode backdrops him on the apron, then Eric comes back in and hits a missile dropkick before Roode snaps his arm on the ropes. Roode hits an atomic drop and a clothesline, then he hits a somersault neckbreaker for two before he follows with a spinebuster for two. They trade a few pin attempts before Roode blocks a backslide, then Eric DDT’s him for two and hits a top rope elbow for another near fall. They go back to trading off on some pinfalls and Eric goes to bridge out of a waistlock, but Roode surprises him with a Roode Bomb for the win.

Winner – Bobby Roode

BP: Tough to find anything wrong with this one. This was a good back and forth match with a clean finish. Eventhough Eric would be a fine contender, Roode vs Lashley feels like it’s been in the cards for awhile and Bound For Glory needs to start building soon. Roode has issue with MVP and Lashley, as well as King, so this one just makes sense for Roode to win.

#1 Contender’s Match (X Division)

Crazzy Steve vs Tigre Uno vs Manik

vs DJ Z vs Homicide vs Low Ki

Ki uppercuts Uno and charges the corner, but he misses a clothesline and Uno knocks him down before going for a pinfall. Everyone breaks it up and Ki chops Zema, then Manik and Zema get into it before Homicide hits Zema with a belly-to-belly throw. Steve tags himself in and rolls Zema up for two, then they both hit the ropes and collide midair before Ki whips Manik and mule kicks him on the turnbuckles. Homicide comes in but Uno dropkicks him, then Zema drops him with a backbreaker before Manik dropkicks him. Homicide backdrops Steve outside, then Homicide throws Ki on the floor and tries to hit Manik with a Gringo Killer. Manike blocks and kicks him in the face, then he dives off the ropes but Homicide hits a diving cutter and a Gringo Killer for the win.

Sanada comes out after the match and attacks Manik, then he leaves with James Storm and drags Manik to the back.

Winner – Homicide
