Detailed 10/29 Lucha Underground Results & Review for the Debut Episode; Prince Puma & Johnny Mundo Work TV Match of the Year

-In another recorded segment, Cario Cueto is berating Chavo Guerrero for tapping out to Blue Demon, Jr. He asks what his grandfather and uncles would think, and says he will definitely not be getting the $100,000. He says he’ll be bringing in another man next week to actually get the job done. By the way, these backstage segments are filmed with a lot of dark filters, a ton of soap opera-style drama, and a little reality TV flair. Really interesting.

PRINCE PUMA vs. JOHNNY MUNDO

This is John Morrison and Ricochet, which is something of a minor dream match for anybody that follows wrestling outside WWE. Konnan is ringside for his protege.

Mundo takes him down to start the match, but Puma kips up too fast to see. They lock up and do a ton of counter-wrestling, with each guy narrowing avoiding every move, and it ends with Mundo kipping up and shrugging off the assault. Headscissors takedown by Prince Puma with about four total rotations, and he looks to go suicide dive to the floor, but Mudno moves out of the way; Puma catches it in time and rebounds off the ropes. Stalemate.

Back in the ring and they lock up again, with Mundo getting a backbreaker, followed by a corkscrew spin kick. Prince comes back with a springboard splash, and locks in a variation on a rear triangle choke. Mundo reverses into a calf lock, but they fight to their feet and he gets caught with a major kick to the head. They end up fighting over to the commentary desk, so Striker and Vampiro clear out. Mundo does some parkour over the table and follows up with a flapjack into the ringpost.
