Despite the AFC North title game being moved to prime time, WWE fans filled the floor section, most of the lower bowl, and a small section of the upper deck for the the company’s final Pittsburgh show in 2014.  Eden Stiles was our ring announcer for the evening.

1. Sin Cara pinned Justin Gabriel.  After the match, Bray Wyatt appeared and attacked both men, hitting Sin Cara with Sister Abigail.  Wyatt demanded the spotlight and said he would put Dean Ambrose back with the insects and roaches.

2. Los Matadores and El Torito beat Tyler Breeze, Titus O’Neil, and Hornswoggle.  After the match, an enraged O’Neil knocked over some Christmas trees that were on the entrance stage.

Eden talked about the VIP packages before being interrupted by Bad News Barrett.  Barrett said he was cleared to compete and teased making his in-ring return at the show before turning against the crowd.  He asked why he would waste his return at the very same arena where his injury occurred and said he couldn’t wait to get out of Pittsburgh.

3. R-Truth pinned Adam Rose with a roll-up.  I chuckled a bit when, as Truth was trying to hype up the crowd, he shouted “Whoomp, there it is!”  When did we time-travel to 1993?  After the match a frustrated Rose knocked over some of the Rosebuds–the Bunny was not in attendance–as he left the ring.

(A side note that I thought readers would find interesting: R-Truth made his WWE debut in this very same city in 2008.  He beat Kenny Dykstra at a SmackDown taping.)

4. Roman Reigns beat United States champion Rusev by disqualification when Rusev hit him with a low blow.  Rusev attempted to hit Reigns with the championship after the match before Reigns hit him with a Spear.

5. Natalya, Naomi, and Charlotte beat Sasha Banks, Cameron, and Summer Rae.  This was a “Santa’s Helpers” match decided by fan vote; the other option was a one-on-one match.  Needless to say, the first option won in a landslide!

6. Big E and Xavier Woods beat Goldust and Stardust, and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro in a triple-threat match to become the number-one contenders for the tag team titles.  Before the match, we got more ripping on the hometown crowd.  Stardust teased that earlier today, WWE announced on its website that Pittsburgh would host WrestleMania 32.  Of course he was lying, but some people actually bought it!  Then, Kidd chided people for checking the score of the Steelers/Bengals game on their phones even though “the Steelers have sucked since 2009!”  The New Day switched things up a bit at tonight’s show by wearing red instead of blue.

7. Dean Ambrose beat Bray Wyatt in a Pittsburgh Street Fight.  The crowd really came alive when weapons became part of the action.  Ambrose started throwing chairs into the ring, only to be hit with a kendo stick by Wyatt.  Ambrose placed a chair on top of Wyatt and came off the top rope with a second chair.  Both men went through a table.  Ambrose blocked an attempted Sister Abigail by Wyatt and hit Dirty Deeds for the win.
