TNA Impact Wrestling Results (3/13) – MVP vs Galloway, Roode vs Eric Young, EC3 vs Spud: There Will Be Blood!

Robbie E (w/ BroMans & Angelina Love) vs Brooke Tessmacher

Robbie treats this like a boxing match with round breaks, and he throws Brooke back before calling for a test of strength. Brooke applies a headlock before leveling him with some forearms and chops, then Brooke mocks Robbie and sits on his corner stool. Robbie knocks her down and takes a water break, then he suplexes her and tries to pick her back up. Jessie tries to interfere but Brooke moves and indirectly dropkicks Robbie, then Brooke steals the win with a rollup.

Winner – Brooke

BP: I thought this was kinda stupid from the start. Robbie was pretty funny, and still is on the web shows and podcasts, but his TV character has become obnoxious in a bad way.

Hair vs Hair

Rockstar Spud vs Ethan Carter III

Spud rushes at Ethan and punches him several times on the floor, then Ethan throws him in the corner before they trade punches. Ethan clotheslines him as we go to a break, then we get back to see Spud take Ethan out with a top rope somersault dive. Ethan pulls Spud outside while Ethan distracts the ref, and Tyrus powerbombs Spud before rolling him back in the ring. Ken Anderson runs out and punches Tyrus a few times, and drops him with a Mic Check on the ramp. Ethan elbows Anderson with his brace and knocks him down, then he busts Spud open with the brace and whips him back in the ring. Ethan sees Spud is busted open and whips him into the turnbuckles a few times, then he sends him outside and taunts him a bit. Jeremy borash runs in and low blows Ethan behind the ref’s back, and Spud hits a diving cutter for two. Ethan repeatedly slams Spud’s face on the mat and tells him to stay down, but Spud refuses and psyches himself up, connecting with several punches and a Shining Wizard. Spud hits Ethan in the balls and kicks him in the face, then he goes for an Underdog but Ethan blocks it. Ethan elbows him in the face and gets two, then Spud fights to his feet and Ethan, almost reluctantly, hits a One  Percenter for the win.

Winner – Ethan Carter

Ethan says he’s never seen more heart and determination in anyone else, and he’s done some really heinous things to Spud. He says they used to be friends, and Spud just proved he belongs here, and he won’t shave his head tonight. Ethan says he proved himself in front of all of these people and he wants to shake his hand, and they should end this on good terms even though it won’t be the same again. Spud shakes his hand and helps him out of the ring, but ends up attacking him and screams that it’s time to pay up. Ethan shaves his head and tells everyone to take notice, and he says this ring and the world is his now.

BP: I loved this feud for so many reasons, and this match really told a great story. Ethan and Spud worked a great match and their expressions were even better. The promo at the end was definitely sincere, even if it was part of a set up. Spud has proven himself time and time again, and tonight was a great payoff. This show was mostly good, and the headline matches were fun to watch. One thing I noticed is the Knockouts weren’t around, but I’m still looking forward to Lashley vs Angle next week.
