How Will a Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match Actually Work? Top 10 Moments From This Week’s WWE RAW (VIDEO)

Elimination Chamber Updates

elimination chamberF4WOnline.com is reporting that the announcement of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view being added to this month’s schedule at the last minute was not a long-term plan that’s been kept under wraps by WWE.

The event was taken off the calender and replaced with WWE Fastlane in February. Among the reasons were physical limitations with the Chamber structure itself, and newly renovated arenas not being able to hang the cage. There were other issues, such as the cost of bringing it on the road, and the merged world championships making the Royal Rumble the only necessary contender’s match heading into WrestleMania.

As we’ve noted, it will be the Intercontinental title and the WWE tag team titles defended in this year’s Elimination Chamber matches for the first time. While it’s unclear exactly how the tag team match will go down – as there’s only ever been singles titles in the Chamber – it’s likely there will only be three teams, not six, with the traditional two men starting out and the other four entering the match every few minutes. It will be interesting to see how eliminations occur; if both team members need to be eliminated or if one pin or submission will knock the whole team out. This is generally how the gimmick worked in the WWE video games where the option was available.

We will keep you updated if plans change.
